Prayer Flags for All Saints
October 27 at 8:30 am-12:30 pm
Remembering Our Ancestors and Beloved Dead
As Episcopalians we commemorate all the Saints, known and unknown, on All Saints day. Honoring our Beloved Dead with as much joy and love as we can is a normal and deeply human activity. Your Beloved Dead are the people related to you through blood or spirit, your family members and family members that you choose. The Beloved Dead can include well-known historical figures that you have a deep relationship with and to. They are the ones that we love that are no longer living.
There are two ways to create memorial Prayer Flags to honor the beloved dead at St. James.

- Baskets of colored paper will be available for you to write the names of all of the Beloved Dead that you want to remember on All Saints Sunday. These colored remembrances will be hung during the week preceding All Saints Sunday and will remain through most of November.
- 10:00 am during Meet Me in the Middle, we will create prayer flags on beautiful German Muslin fabric donated by Maggie Yowell Wilson. The fabric prayer flags will be added to our paper flags that will hang in the Nave on All Saints Sunday and beyond. Come express your creativity in community as we make Prayer Flags together.
